The San Francisco 49ers selected Georgia tight end Charlie Woerner with the pick (No. 190 overall) in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The 49ers acquired the selection in the trade that sent wide receiver Marquise Goodwin to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Woerner, who is viewed by Pro Football Focus as "one of the best and most devastating" run blockers in this draft class, caught 34 passes for 376 yards and a touchdown in four seasons with the Bulldogs.

The 49ers provided the following bio on McKivitz:

Appeared in 54 games (19 starts) in four years (2016-19) at Georgia where he registered 34 recepts. for 376 yds. and 1 TD. Started all 14 games and was the co-recipient of the Frank Sinkwich Award, which is given to the toughest player on the team as a senior in 2019 as he recorded 9 recepts. for 78 yds. and 1 TD. As a junior in 2018, was one of 14 football student-athletes named to the SEC Football Leadership Council and was one of three winners of the Special Teams Most Improved Player award. Played in all 14 games (2 starts) and recorded 11 recepts. for 148 yds. Appeared in 14 games (1 start) as a sophomore in 2017, registering 9 recepts. for 100 yds. Played in 12 games (2 starts) as a freshman in 2016 where he recorded 5 recepts. for 50 yds and was a member of the 2016-17 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot-5 and 244-pound Woerner had a 40-time of 4.78 seconds, a vertical jump of 34.5 inches, a broad jump of 120 inches, completed the three-cone drill in 7.18 seconds, 21 reps in the bench press, and a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.46 seconds. Other measurables for Woerner include an arm length of 31 1/8 inches and hands that measure 10 inches.

NFL.com projected Woerner to be a priority free agent.

Below is the NFL.com draft profile bio on Woerner:

Woerner (pronounced WER-ner) is the nephew of College Football Hall of Fame defensive back Scott Woerner, who helped the Bulldogs win a national title in 1980 with punt and interception returns for touchdowns against Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. Charlie did not have many big moments in his first three years between the hedges, scoring no touchdowns even though he played in 40 games. He got that elusive touchdown in 2019, catching nine passes for 78 yards in 14 starts. A top-10 tight end recruit nationally, he started twice as a true freshman (5-50-10.0), once as a sophomore (9-100-11.1), and twice as a junior (11-148-13.5).

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com wrote the following about Woerner within his scouting report:

Hard-charging, pesky blocker whose lack of size and length make him a candidate for a move to fulltime fullback or H-back. Woerner simply doesn't have it in him to give the defender a half-speed rep and he's more than ready to collide into his target on iso-blocks or in space. He has the body control and radar to handle move blocking duties but lacks the physical traits teams seek. Woerner has some athleticism but was a relative non-factor as a pass-catcher and needs to stand out on special teams to bolster his chances.
